SUMMARY
Assist Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Manager with all services needed to maintain cottages, mountain homes, walkways, housekeeping closets and public areas according to resort standards.
| | Duties: | ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for checking in and out keys and radios from the safety office.
Check in/out Sundance vehicle following Sundance vehicle safety guidelines.
Supervise all employees in assigned sections.
Inspect all vacant rooms, stayovers and checkouts in assigned sections.
Ensure all closets and storage areas are clean and stocked.
Responsible for ensuring cleanliness of rooms/areas in assigned sections as well as all amenities are stocked; ie: clean robes, folder, and magazines
Direct and ensure that housepersons maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, making sure garbage and linen is picked up as needed.
Ensures staff follows Sundance Housekeeping protocols for cleanliness and safety.
Change status of cleaned rooms via phone #152.
Communicate problems and requests in need of attention to other departments in a timely manner.
Review status report and check the computer two times per shift.
Delegate work evenly to room attendants and housepersons in assigned section.
Ensure turnovers are clean by 3:00 PM. Communicate to Front Desk and Housekeeping Manager when this isn’t possible.
Communicate to Front Desk when an early arrival is ready.
Responsible for the safe transport of housekeepers to assigned areas according to housekeeping standards.
Make sure each employee is wearing a neat and complete uniform.
Responsible for ensuring employees abide the Sundance and Housekeeping appearance policies.
Make sure keys and radios checked out have been returned to safety.
Complete yellow Room Inspection checklist for every housekeeper each day.
Ensure all housekeepers/housepersons go home at the same time unless otherwise approved by the Housekeeping Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises around 10 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position: minimizing waste, recycling, energy conservation, purchase and use of sustainable products, education on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats.
DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest’s impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest’s expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:
All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Housekeeping staff are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
The Housekeeping Uniforms consists of the following:
Blue jeans or khaki pants (without fancy embroidery )
Sundance issued shirt, sweatshirt, or coat
Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Men’s shirts must be tucked in – no exceptions.
Appropriate skirt/shorts length is from the knee to the ankle.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing. Clothes that are too baggy or tight are not permitted.
If an additional layer of clothing is needed for warmth while on duty, it must either be Sundance issued or it must be warn underneath the uniform and not visible (except in the collar area)
Hats may be warn, but must be PRE-APPROVED by manager
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Flip flops and sport sandals (tevas/chacos,etc) are prohibited in all areas.
Tennis shoes are permitted, but must be in good repair and not too flashy.
No open-toed shoes

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS
Must possess working knowledge of internet navigation and electronic mail. Knowledge of SMS helpful. Operate radio for communication with staff.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers’ License in good standing in accordance to Sundance’s Insurance Company guidelines.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in both English and Spanish. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in both English and Spanish. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization in both English and Spanish.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
