Description:Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

SUMMARY
To coach skiing and ski racing to young competitive athletes. To stimulate a love of skiing with each young racer and to support their desire to move on in more competitive skiing. To always model the highest level of professionalism, honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship to the young racers and racing industry or organization.

Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly and knowledgably.
Love of skiing, racing, and coaching.
Desire to promote a healthy, competitive, and fun environment for young athletes.
Enjoy sharing this love of skiing and ski racing with others.
Pleasant/Outgoing personality.
Must have alpine racing experience and athlete race training and instruction.
Ensure safety of athletes.
Current alpine racing technical and tactical knowledge.
Strong competent racer and skier.
Strong knowledge of the resort: ie, lodging, dining, guest services, etc.
Strong communication skills with parents and children.
Excellent guest service skills.

DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest’s impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest’s expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:

All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Operational managers are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Blue jeans are permitted.
Men’s shirts must be tucked in.
Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing.
Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Proper footwear for your department is required.
Dress sandals are permitted for females.
Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
Tennis shoes are prohibited unless there is a business need (ie: Mtn. Ops.)
If your department allows t-shirts, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.

Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Level I or II coaches certification, or working toward certification.
Must have alpine racing experience and athlete race training and instruction.
Current alpine racing technical and tactical knowledge.
Understanding of skiing and alpine racing technique and tactics, and the methods to teach them.
History of consistency in having a good work ethic, and safety awareness.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
PSIA certification preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision. Employee is on skis most of the day.
